Janet Dunn Awards Nomination

Janet Dunn was a founding member of CCPSA and a dedicated coach, classifier and mentor to many athletes. Upon her retirement from the CCPSA Board of Directors, the Board established the Janet Dunn Award for CCPSA athletes. Janet is still involved in sport as a coach and an International classifier.

This award is given annually to one female and one male athlete who show both excellence in sport and a contribution to sport for athletes with a disability.

Candidates for this award must be current CCPSA National Team members, or have been on the National Team within the last four (4) years.

Nominations for this award must come from a Provincial CP Sports Organization or a CCPSA recognized group representing a Province. Each Province may nominate one female and one male athlete. Nominations should be postmarked no later than Friday May 12, 2008 and sent to the CCPSA Office:

Letters of nomination must include:
• Name, address and phone number of the athlete being nominated
• Name, address and phone number of person completing the nomination letter
• A description of the athlete’s accomplishments over the past four years
• A description of their contribution to CCPSA, their sport and other athletes
• Two (2) passport size pictures and one action picture of the athlete competing in their sport

All nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee and the winners will be announced at the CCPSA Annual General Meeting.
