Introduction to CCPSA Sports

Welcome to CCPSA sports where challenge, hard work, dedication and perseverance are just the beginning of the game. These athletes commit themselves to countless hours of training every week, pushing personal limits in pursuit of their goals. Whether playing boccia, soccer, or bowls, cycling on the road, powering up the weights, or participating in track and field, these athletes are committed to excellence.

Athletes compete at every level: regional, provincial, national and notably at the international level where Canada is ranked among one of the top countries. The number of athletes in Canada is growing each year, as well as the competition.

Stronger, faster and smarter athletes are being developed which makes it all the more difficult to attain National Team status. These athletes travel the globe competing at many prestigious events including the World Championships and the Paralympic Games. It is a privilege and an honor to work with these devoted athletes who stun us all in their incredible feats, spectacular performances and close competitions.

The Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association incorporates an athlete-focused approach in all of their sports, centering on the holistic premise that physical activity involves the mind, body and spirit working together to enhance the athlete as well as the individual. Developing the athlete in this way promotes the growth of the person and increases his/her ability to shine through in and out of competition.

As stated in our vision and objectives, our purpose and aim is to support and encourage individuals with CP, brain injury and other related physical disabilities to join us and become athletes, celebrating health and well-being. We welcome individuals regardless of age, gender, size, physical and/or mental ability to contact their provincial organization for more information on CCPSA sports.
