Cycling

When athletes talk about pure speed it is cycling that often comes up. The sheer joy of cruising down a country road or flying by a familiar community makes cyclists want to just hop on their bikes! Cycling provides an extraordinary workout, improving cardio-vascular endurance and strengthening leg muscles. Competitive cycling is available for athletes in the CP2 to CP8 classification across a number of disciplines, including road racing and track cycling. Athletes compete with a standard racing bike or, in some classes, tricycles. The racing distances for athletes are 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, 10,000m and/or 20,000m. So come on, be adventurous, be daring and take the challenge, contact your provincial affiliate or the Canadian Cycling Association
